I am
writing this little booklet based on my own limited knowledge of transgender
people in history. It is my contention that being transgender has a
biological origin, therefore there have been transgender people since the
origin of the human race. I have discovered a number of instances of
famous individuals who feeling the role suited them better than they were
required to identify from childhood chose to live as a gender opposite to the
one assigned at birth. This booklet will address those transgender individuals
about whom we know a little of their own history.
As I collect the information
to write these chapters I do so by clipping articles and short pieces and examples
which I will ultimately rewrite for the final publication as a book.
